Sorry, Steelers and Cardinals fans, but us New York Giants supporters just breathed a collective sigh of relief. For the past couple of weeks, we feared that Electronic Arts would put Super Bowl winning running back Brandon Jacobs on the cover of Madden NFL 10, thus dooming the Giants' season before it began. Thankfully, the team avoided the Madden curse, as EA gave Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald and Steelers safety Troy Polamalu the honors.

This marks the first time that two players will share the cover, and for Fitzgerald, he joins Shaun Alexander as one of two football players to appear on the covers of Madden and NCAA (for NCAA Football 2005) video games.

EA made this decision in line with this year's theme of fighting for every yard. Little does it know that it probably just cost both teams the 2009 season.

Madden NFL 10 comes out on all platforms August 14th.
