With the Madden hype train running full speed ahead, Electronic Arts recently pulled back the curtain on its upcoming commercial starring the Arizona Cardinals' Larry Fitzgerald and the Pittsburgh Steelers' Troy Polamalu. Check it out here.
Since both athletes share the cover, EA invited/paid them to appear at the Los Angeles Coliseum. With this year's slogan, "Fight for Every Yard" in mind, Fitzgerald catches a pass at the 50-yard line, runs into Polamalu and both players jockey for position. Eventually, players from both teams run over and attempt to push their respective guys forward. After awhile, the fans (the shoot involved over 500 extras), leave their seats and sidelines to join the mass of humanity.
Although EA didn't show the commercial, it sounds entertaining. We just hope the company doesn't splice the live action footage with computer-generated fluff made to look like the actual game. Come on EA, show us what it really looks like.
Madden NFL 10 debuts August 14th.
