From a graphical standpoint, both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Madden NFL 2007 look amazing. The glistening sweat on player's forearms, the high resolution detail of the stadium grass, the stretching of the uniforms as the players run, it's all very impressive. Currently, both versions look very similar, the PS3 build appearing only slightly smoother than the 360 version, but both are still early with the 360 version at 60% completion and the PS3 only at 30%.

New to this year's version are block control, deeper training mini-games. The revamped block control highlights an emphasis on the running game, for the first time, gamers are able to directly control players as they block against the oncoming team. Once contact is made, control then switches back to the runner. Specific players also have specific running animations, so if a player has a unique running style, the game will now reflect that. In-game players are also more aware of their environment now, their eyes tracking the ball of an incoming pass instead of blindly catching it.

Allowing gamers to further develop and rehab their players, newly controllable mini-games such as the 40 Yard Dash and the Benchpress ensure that attributes are earned, not just selected from a menu. Also new to this year's version is the Highlight Stick, replacing the Trick Stick. Each player now has their own individual highlight move triggered by the right stick. This move is dependent on their position, providing for deeper gameplay and more accurate control.

Madden NFL 2007 is currently slated to hit the Xbox 360 in August and the PlayStation 3 in November.
