Funny, I thought the Luxor was really a hotel in Las Vegas. Oh, wait, it is, but now it turns out that MSN Games has produced a great puzzle game with the name as well. Luxor is loaded with all sorts of great puzzle activity, and takes a neat twist on an already existing title, Ballistic.

The plot of the game is simple. You've got a series of multi-colored balls that are being pushed towards your temple by an annoying little conveyor, and the only way to stop their progression is to shoot similar-colored balls at them in stacks of threes or more. They vanish and leave fewer balls to be eliminated. It's really rather easy, but the difficulty ramps up as you progress within the game's 88 level structure.

The game has a splendid presentation, with beautiful Egyptian design, moody music, superb sound effects, and great little graphic details here and there. But MSN Games also went the extra mile by throwing in additional power-ups that help boost gameplay.

With these power-ups, you can "stop" the balls and get better shots in, use a fireball power-up to get rid of a large number of balls, or use a "wild ball" that matches up instantly with whatever it hits. These power-ups add freshness to the game, even without a two-player option. At least there's a high score board to keep you challenged.

Luxor is a terrific game for download, and a definite must-have for your computer...even if you don't even know what a Luxor is. Try Luxor for free, or download it at MSN Games.

Helpful Tip: Be sure to use power-ups wisely. Some may come more often than others, and the fireball's probably the most devastating you'll find. Don't miss!
