I hope your reflexes have been tested lately, because you are definitely going to need to be ready to react at a moment's notice when it comes to playing Lizzie McGuire3: Homecoming Havoc! In this game, the Homecoming dance is right around the corner, and in order to beat Kate for the Homecoming Queen crown, Lizzie must complete a series of quick-moving puzzles in order to advance through the levels and win. The puzzles you are given are all reflex-based puzzles (similar to those in Nintendo's Wario Ware Touched!), which means that you may find yourself hitting the A button at just the right time in order to do things like swipe lipstick on Lizzie's lips, or parachute onto a target wedged between two tall mountains.
The puzzles are fairly easy to get through, but you may find that you sometimes have to replay certain boards until you get the hang of the task at hand. Luckily, when you run out of chances to get through a board, you only start back at the beginning of the board, and not at the beginning of the game. Basically, this gives you a number of chances to beat the level and move on. To help you out a little bit, there are instructions at the beginning of each level as to what kind of board it is going to be. For example, if it says "Multi-tap" at the beginning of the board, you know that you are going to have to hit the A button a few times in order to make Lizzie do something like jump from rock to rock without getting hit by the bugs that are flying around.
The animation in the game looks sweet and girly- lots of bright colors and details like flowers and hearts brighten up the screen. The music is what you would expect from a Game Boy Advance game. Fans of the Lizzie McGuire series will have fun with this, but fans of Hilary Duff who are looking to see the video game version of their favorite teen star may be disappointed, because Hilary on Game Boy looks nothing like Lizzie McGuire.
Overall, Lizzie McGuire 3: Homecoming Havoc is a great choice for Lizzie fans, young girls in particular. However, those looking for a more rugged, action-packed, or sophisticated game should look for something else.
