Sony has big plans for LittleBigPlanet, a title the company hopes will help them reach a broader audience. Sony is raising awareness with a new LBP website.

One of the more anticipated games in Sony's PS3 lineup this fall is LittleBigPlanet from Media Molecule. Sony Computer Entertainment America chief Jack Tretton called the game a "tent pole" release for the platform and he said that Sony intends to "really get behind" the game.

It would now appear that the marketing campaign has kicked off in earnest as PlayStation gamers this week received an email notifying them of a brand-new LittleBigPlanet news website. The site plans to bring fans daily updates including announcements, developer interviews, video trailers, and artwork.

However, in the long run Sony said the site will transform into a destination for LittleBigPlanet gamers: "For now, the news site will keep you informed, educated and hopefully excited about our release in October, but eventually, our website will evolve into something much bigger and better to support our community of Players, Creators and Sharers."
