Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment happily sent word today that Lego Batman, from developer TT Games, took home top honors as the best game at the Children's BAFTA Awards this week. The Lego version of the caped crusader beat out Mario Kart Wii, Guinness World Records and Professor Layton and the Curious Village to win the award.
"We're absolutely thrilled with this win," said Jonathan Smith, Head of Production, TT Games. "It crowns a brilliant year for us."
TT Games, which was acquired by Warner Bros. in 2007, has been enjoying a solid 2008 with both Lego Batman and Lego Indiana Jones selling quite well. The latter sold over 1.1 million units in its release month of June, while the former sold 551,000 copies in September (both U.S. sales only, according to NPD data).
With access to the full Warner slate, the latest rumor going around is that TT Games will put out a Lego Harry Potter title next, but nothing's been confirmed just yet.
