Legendary, the surprise first-person shooter game that was announced at last year's E3 2007 press event, will arrive on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this Summer. Being developed by Spark Unlimited (whose members have a history of creating several Medal of Honor games) and published by Gamecock Media Group, Legendary puts players into a world that's being overrun with mythical beasts. Of course, your role is to take them out with heavy munitions.
"This is the project we want to be working on and it's shaping up to be something amazing," said Craig Allen, CEO of Spark Unlimited. "Legendary is the type of game we want every gamer, regardless of system allegiance, to get the chance to play. We're taking our time to ensure optimum performance, regardless of platform."
The premise of the story follows an art thief named Charles Decker, who after stealing Pandora's Box, opens it and unleashes mythical beasts such as werewolves and gryphons on the modern world. Bad news, they're hungry. While his goal is to take them out, Decker also finds that he has another war to fight with secret societies that want a stake in the modern world's demise.
Spark's demo last year looked pretty interesting when GameDaily last saw it; gamers will get a chance to judge later this year.
