Etsy, the online store that lets DIY crafters sell their wares has been a gold mine for gaming culture enthusiasts. We've seen everything from a Companion Cube plush toy to soap shaped like a Wii remote.
The newest video game find is a $65 red track jacket, modeled after the one Zoey from Valve's Left 4 Dead wears in the game. Bonus: each jacket is custom fit to your measurement and will take roughly two weeks to complete.
We talked to the jacket's creator, Rens, about her new 'it' piece of gaming gear, and she says it was born out of a love for cosplaying (i.e. dressing up like a video game character).
"She's a strong female lead in a male dominated genre, and I'm a huge fan of zombie fiction (and fact). So I designed a coat for myself," Rens says.
"Zoey is fairly popular in the cosplaying community and that it is difficult to find a remotely accurate track jacket. I thought that maybe I could help out fellow cosplayers by making the jacket available in my store." She adds, "(n)ow I'm just waiting on my wig so I can actually wear the costume."
Personally, I always choose Zoey while playing Left 4 Dead. Rens, promise to send us pics of you in your full regalia.
To order your jacket, visit the FeralWorks store on Etsy.
Left4Dead 2 was announced last week; read our impressions and look for it on Xbox 360 and PC, November 17.
