Alright. I LOVE Kingdom Hearts, the entire series--I love the graphics, I love the gameplay, I love the plot (I love love LOVE the plot). And, I absolutely LOVE Kingdom Hearts II--It was a stupendous game. Nonetheless, I have to say, KHII was only as stupendous as the first, where it should have been an improvement; sadly, it's downfall was definately it's game play. Now, don't get me wrong--it was fun to play. However, it was just too easy. In KH, there was a nice balance to the game play in that, if you used the right combos and moved right, you could defeat your oponent and be proud of your skills. In KHII, though, beating enemies was just too easy! If you used the command button and your drive forms all of the time, you could breeze through the game without any problems; you really didn't need to work that hard to defeat anyone. There were, of course, times when it really came in handy (the Organization, the world devoted to Pirates of the Carribean), and game play did improve when it came to reaction times, smoothness, and beauty of battle (amongst other little details), but...overall, KH beat out KHII in game play. Otherwise, though, KHII was phenominal. The graphics were stunning while maintaining the "KH" look, whether it was in battle or just walking around cities. And, as I said previously, battle was not only entertaining (well, up to a point...you know), but gorgeous. And, when it comes to plot--KHII was by far one of the deepest games I've played in a while. It answers almost all of the questions of KH and most of CoM by posing a ridiculously large number of other questions to be answered in later(/earlier? KHIII?) games; even the presentation of the unknowns is an example of answering questions while leaving many, many, many more open. However, it is not just all about conspiracies--the bonds between Sora, Kairi, and Riku is still just as important in this game as before; although....here is one more complaint I have about KHII. They did not/could not present kairi and riku early enough to really explore the relationship between the three more fully than they had in the first, right up until the VERY, VERY END of the game. Overall, though, the plot was really, truly, amazing. So, as a whole, KHII is an outstanding game. Still, it isn't really any more outstanding than the first, which isn't bad at all, except for the fact that it should have surpassed it predecessor. The gameplay was alright, the graphics were amazing, and the plot...well, let's just say that I played most of the game just to see the next cutscene. I would suggest KHII to anyone, and I would give it a 9.2-9.5/10.
The first one was good and Chain of Memories was really cool, but this one beat them all!
I greatly enjoyed Kingdom Hearts 2 just as much as much as the first game in the series. Even with it's tedious button mashing system, I found it to be one of my most fondly thought of games if not my favorite. :]
This is the best game I have ever played. I love it so much, I must have beaten over 10 times in the last year!
The first Kingdom Hearts was good, this game is awesome! The story, gameplay and audio are all works of art. The game takes place a year after the first game but you play as Sora for the few hours of the game, you actually play as Roxas. I won't spoil how you play as Sora again but when you do half of your being is gonna want to play as him again instead of Sora. The much talked about controls from the first game has been adressed and mapped to the right analog stick with great success. The batle system has been improved with the inclusion of the drive system which you will use a lot in this game. The audio in this game hasn't changed which is a good thing. The one thing that's been removed from this is the platforming element, it's a straight up action game, but my biggest gripes with game is that you fight Oogie Boogie and Jafar again and there are some tedious tasks in Jiminy's Journal. But that aside this is a great game
