Expectations were some high for Insecticide, since the DS seems ripe for hosting a point-and-click adventure. Boasting an aesthetic that seems ripped from the mind of Tim Schaefer (Psychonauts, Grim Fandango), this film noir-style adventure has you battling enemy insects via an over-the-shoulder view, interspersed with dialog-intensive investigation sequences. The game does a good job mixing these two elements to keep it from getting repetitive, but neither section works well. With spotty combat controls and unintuitive evidence gathering, the game gets boring fast.
