Fahrenheit is a game that gives you your standard mystery story - a string of ritualistic murders have occurred, with seemingly no link between the victims. However, the game has innovations that many other games seem to lack. When looking at Fahrenheit, start thinking about games such as Syberia and take a leap forward from that. Having a "rubber" plot line, meaning that all your actions and interactions affect different aspects of the game, it will offer a great deal of replay value and variety through the entirety of your gaming experience. With optical motion capture acting, the movie sequences will look and sound realistic, and with a new powerful engine, complex actions and tasks that could not be done in the past can be done now. Compared to action RPG's of this genre, many up until now have seemed rehashed these days, and the creators of Fahrenheit have noticed. Thus, they are trying everything possible to enrich what these type of games already have that appeal to the gaming community.

You go through the game as Inspector Carla Valenti, trying to uncover the truth behind the series of grisly murders. Not only do you play the detective trying to find out what's going on, you'll also be able to play characters that are under the influence of what is causing people to be homicidal. Lucas Kane, your normal everyday Joe, finds himself doing things he has no control over, and you play the game as him trying to find out what is happening to him. The game will give multiple perspectives, so players can understand the motivations for the key characters. With an intricate storyline, somewhat religious and even satanic undertones, and the city of Manhattan suffering from continuous temperature drops, there won't be a dull moment!

The game is offering a unique action system that keeps the game moving at a rapid pace. Many RPGs tend to be very slow paced, sometimes forcing players to spend hours searching through a room for an obscure clue. Fahrenheit promises a fast-moving storyline with minimal down-time. The creators wanted to keep the game simple enough for casual gamers, yet challenging enough to keep experienced players interested.

Another problem with many RPGs is that the environments tend to be very limited. Under most circumstances, people can only explore through static environments where everything is stuck in place. Fahrenheit developers are working on an almost fully interactive environment and are putting it together with an intuitive interface.

With stunning visuals, and a great storyline, Fahrenheit may be raising the bar in comparison to many of the titles currently on the market. So, keep your eyes peeled for when it comes out, because if it is all its cracked up to be, this may be the start of a whole new class of action RPGs gamers can look forward to playing. The temperature is definitely rising for this one!
