So Tiger Woods PGA Tour was a bit too technical for your handheld needs? Perhaps something simpler or more vast would be your ideal handheld golf experience for the PSP. Well, you're in luck, as a new title has arrived that will divert your attention quite extensively, and that title is Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee. It's just as fun as Tiger Woods was, and has enough unlockable items to keep kids swinging for hours.
The game features a number of courses to play across, as well as unique and interestingly designed characters to choose from, each with their own attributes to lend to the game. As you proceed, you can unlock new courses and other golfers to challenge, and the design is really upbeat and cartoon-like so it'll appeal to all ages.
The gameplay system is simple but works brilliantly, allowing you to work your pitch, power, and direction all with ease. Some things take a bit of time to master, but once you learn the basics there's fun to be had. The number of different mini-games that are available are a gas, and the mulitplayer challenges you can go through will keep you and your friends occupied. There's no online play, which is a bummer, but the rest of the game seems to be quite intact, right up there with its PS2 editions.
Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee is a must have for the PSP, simply for its gameplay and number of items that you can get as you make your way to Golfing God or Goddess. Its presentation is smooth enough that frustration will rarely come into play, and the game's general fun factor is right on par. Don't miss this game.
