Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure follows the imaginative exploits of explorer Henry Hatsworth and his search for a magical suit. When players instruct him to attack monsters on the top screen via a side-scrolling action adventure game, his enemies fall to the bottom touch screen and become puzzle blocks. When that happens, players transition to puzzle mode where they'll use classic gem popping strategies to match three or more like colored blocks in order to make them disappear, thus scoring power-ups that Henry can use along the way. Sadly, unlike similar games like Puzzle Quest, Henry Hatsworth is a single player experience that lacks any multiplayer modes. Also, despite featuring colorful graphics for the casual audience, the game's difficulty speeds up quickly (seasoned pros will love the challenge though). In the end, EA did an excellent job blending both genres and we enjoyed the humorous dialogue, cut scenes and gameplay, especially when Henry wrecks bad guys while piloting a giant robot. Most of the game's too easy and the shooting eventually grows repetitive, but we still suggest giving Henry Hatsworth a try.
