EA and Namco Bandai Games announced that gamers looking for a taste of hell on earth don't need to go outside tonight for Halloween. Instead, they encourage you to head to your local games retailer and grab a copy of Hellgate: London for Windows PCs.
The first game from Flagship Studios, which is comprised of team members from such games as Diablo, merges first-person shooter action with hack and slash role-playing game elements as players try to rid circa 2038 London's demon invasion.
"Today marks a major milestone for Flagship Studios," said Bill Roper, CEO of Flagship Studios. "The greatest thrill any developer can have is to see their game actually in a player's hands. We've put our all into making Hellgate: London a great gaming experience, and now we're able to share what has been a huge part of the past four years of our lives with our friends, family and the world."
Offering over 35 hours of offline gameplay, Hellgate: London also delivers a free online experience that allows players to experience the story-driven campaign with other players. Players looking to more tools to monitor their progress and additional ongoing content from character classes to items can opt into a subscription program for $9.99 a month.
A few weeks ago, a Hellgate: London single player demo unveiled that the game plays like a high-tech and high definition version of Diablo with familiar gameplay but in full 3-D. The retail version of the M for Mature rated game sells for MSRP$49.99.
