by David Radd on Monday, November 21, 2005
Entertainment Software Association (ESA) today released the results of its annual survey on what interactive entertainment products consumers plan to buy for the holiday season. According to the study, 31% of Americans will give and/or receive games this holiday season. The survey, designed to highlight holiday consumer trends, was conducted in October 2005.
Additional results of the study show that 22% of households without children plan to give games a gift this holiday season, along with 49% of homes with children age 12 to 17 and 43% of homes with children under the age of 12. 35% of adult men will receive a game as a gift, far and away the largest demographic to increase over last year, when it was 26%. 35% of adults giving games are giving them to girls or women.
