The 12-hour countdown at Bungie.net finally hit zero this morning, revealing a teaser trailer for Halo 3's new campaign expansion. The short clip (embedded below) shows three metropolitan cities in ruins (the overlays on the video indicate the cities are Lumumba, Tanaga and Mbaraki). The video is interspersed with static transmissions -- a keen eye over at Joystiq pointed out a brief "01/06/09" flashing on the screen, possibly indicating the expansion's drop date.
No other details have been released about the expansion yet. We speculate that the expansion will also include co-op play as in the original Halo 3. The Xbox Live Marketplace description for the video states: "High action and deep mystery await players in this new Halo 3 campaign experience. Prepare to drop."

Wow this isn't new to the Bungie Forums most of us found this the day of the trailer considering us Die Hard "Bungie Fans" (Were Bungie Fans not just Halo fans Bungie made other great games too) went frame by frame through the trailer because Bungie likes hiding things all the time. It does say January 6, 2009 and also the fact that its saying get ready to drop is referring to the "Hell Jumpers" (Term from the Books) a.k.a the ODST marines from the game. Most likely we will be seeing a Squad Based game based on the Marines final stand in the city of New Mombasa. And for those who don't know that blue flash that destroys many of the ODST pods is actually Regret's ship from Halo 2 making a slipspace jump in the city. Pay attention in the first seconds on the right and you'll see his ship in the clouds behind a few buildings. Well Im phsyched for it and glad to see Big Daddy MC taking a break for this one but don't worry he'll be back and hey he might even make an appearance.
well actually this is probably the peter jackson halo cuase he is supposed to be ***ming up with 2more addtional halo games but like side storiied one like the other spartans like what happend to them or maybe this is a expansion pack for halo 3 cuase yesterday was halo 3 annirversary of its one year realese but we have to wait and see me personally will go for this mid***ht realease but is it actually going to worth it cuase its going to have way fierce compition against left 4 dead gears of war 2 resident evil 5 which is next year also and its self halo wars but we yet remain to see that work in title come out buutt wee have to wait and see
