We're obsessed with lists at GameDaily (have you noticed?), especially ones that rank games in order. It always gets conversation going and, frankly, humans in general have a difficult time resisting categorizing items. It speaks to the competitive spirit that lives in all of us. So when Xbox Live spokesperson Major Nelson releases his weekly Xbox Live ranking list, we can't resist taking a peek.
Big blockbusters continue to take the lead in this week's Xbox Live list. Xbox 360 exclusive Halo 3 heads back to number one (it was #2 the previous week) is followed by two Call of Duty games, Gears of War 2 and Grand Theft Auto IV. What does that tell us? Just like movies and music, it's hard to resist highly polished games with multi-million dollar budgets. For games like Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4, its a testament to how a killer multiplayer mode can extend the life of an older game.
On Xbox Live Arcade -- Magic the Gathering takes the lead followed by the recently released Garou: Mark of the Wolves fighting game (released June 24), which bumped XBL Arcade phenom Castle Crashers to third.
