The GameDaily One-Minute Review
Halo 2 was a driving force on the Xbox, but the PC version lacks the same impact or influence. Despite the graphics upgrade, the game still feels like a leftover from 2004. Apart from the graphical tweaks, been almost no improvements or additions were made to the original game. Controls feel more appropriate for a gamepad controller than the more precise mouse and keyboard, and the cumbersome vehicle controls act as a further reminder of the game's console origins. Most of the major new features have little to do with the actual game, like Games for Windows Live! support for multiplayer, and easy background installation under Windows Vista. However, GFW Live! only brings so much to the table, since players can't challenge Xbox users to a match, limiting the pool of possible players to those who have made the upgrade to Vista. Clearly, the release of Halo 2 on the PC has less to do with the game, but more as a means of getting more users to jump to Vista.User Reviews
