On September 25, Jesus fans will be able to rock out to Christian rock music in the Guitar Hero knock-off, Guitar Praise: Solid Rock, which will ship with 52 "inspirational and pulsating tracks" from Flyleaf, Petra, Whitecross, Newsboys, Skillet and others.
Does Jesus rock? This Guitar Hero copycat says yes.
"People love the console guitar games on the market, but many would like more family-friendly songs and graphics," says Digital Praise CEO Tom Bean. "Guitar Praise gives kids, families and youth groups the play features they like best, plus some new twists as well as the best Christian rock titles out there today."
Guitarists will be able to rock out solo or with one other player, one taking the lead and the other playing bass. A PowerDuel mode, borrowed from Guitar Hero III, will let players deliver "surprises" that will affect their opponent's performance.
A bundle containing the game and wireless guitar controller will be available for $99.99 and will work with both Windows and Mac computers. Extra guitars will be available for $69.95.
The company also makes a Dance Dance Revolution-style game with Christian music called Dance Praise 2: The Remix, which retails for $50.

Instead of this could we just get some skillet songs on the next guitar hero? also thousand foot crutch, fly leaf, fireflyte and piller wouldt be bad.

I'm not a big fan of Christian rock, but is Jars of Clay, Mercy Me or Hawk Nelson on this. Wait, I'm not completely sure if Hawk Nelson is Christian rock. Whatever. I don't know. And hfish, what makes you say that? Btw, my little bro and little sis play GH and Rock Band and they're 8 and 6 years old.

If this were available on consoles, I'd still be more likely to get Rock Revolution, crappy covers and all. They can't really justify the price tag. Guitar Hero/Rock Band (Sort of) are cheaper (RB Guitar-wise) and there's nothing wrong with Christian rock, but it's not what I listen to, you know? GH/RB's all about rocking. I really don't think there's much bad with GH (Besides the neon in the Moose Lounge, not gonna go in deeper) and Rock Band I find nothing wrong with. My younger brother plays both. He's 5. He's not getting a bad message from it. The game isn't essentially bad, it's good for all the perfect christian children, it's just not something I'd buy. I'd rather get a real guitar than another peripheral. But who really wants to stare at a brick wall?
I will NEVER play this game I am christian but I refuse to taint the ways of rock with this crap. The closest I will ever get to any kind of song like that is anything on Kid Rock's new album.
i thought guitar hero was pretty "family friendly". besides "raining blood" i don't think there's anything that super christians would disapprove of. or maybe b/c slipknot's "before i forget" can kind of hint at evolution? i guess you can also make an argument for "devil went down to georgia" but, spoiler alert, johnny beats the devil. so that's good, right? i'm not gonna bad mouth this game though, b/c i sing along to some of the infomercials for christian rock songs, they're fun and happy. i just disagree with snowman for suggesting that the guitar heroes aren't family safe...and i disagree on some of his other views. but that's irrelevant.

Thank You Digital Praise for making a family safe version of Guitar Hero. You will sell huge quantities of this product. Activision is missing out on a sizable market where families are awaiting a Safe product for their children. Had Activision developed this Christian product, or a family safe version of Guitar Hero, they would have closed the door for competition. Christian media is a MULTI-BILLION dollar industry that won't be ignored. Jesus is the one, the only for access to Heaven! Do you KNOW where you are heading?
It's for the betterment of religion and society in their eyes. So of course they're allowed to bend/break the rules. You know like they've been doing for ages under said pretenses. *rolls eyes*
