One of the most influential guitarists of the 20th century is making his master track debut in Guitar Hero World Tour. Not only will Purple Haze and The Wind Cries Mary be in the game, but so will his likeness as a playable character.

Today, Activision announced that Jimi Hendrix will be featured in Guitar Hero World Tour. The game will include a live rendition of Purple Haze and a master track of The Wind Cries Mary, with downloadable content of other Hendrix songs being made available at a future date. Hendrix will also be included in Guitar Hero World Tour as a playable character.
"Guitar Hero games have become the virtual rock stage for the industry's most beloved artists and Guitar Hero World Tour continues that tradition by honoring the great Jimi Hendrix and celebrating some of his greatest work," said Tim Riley, Vice President of Music Affairs for Activision Blizzard. "His presence in the game will serve to satisfy multiple generations of his fans and Guitar Hero devotees, as well as create new fans by reintroducing his genre-defining guitar style through the unique Guitar Hero experience."
