Recently, Activision launched a contest to ask Guitar Hero players which re-mixed tracks from the franchise's lexicon, Guitar Hero II, Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s and Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, would be included in the upcoming Guitar Hero Smash Hits expansion.

After the voting was tallied on SmashHits.GuitarHero.com, fans overwhelming asked to see which songs from the original Guitar Hero made the cut. Why should you even care? Well, those tracks, originally guitar only, will come with drum and vocal tracks for use with the full band kit for Guitar Hero World Tour.

The voting for the next list of songs is already happening on the site and will continue until Guitar Hero Smash Hits and its list of 48 master tracks arrives on June 16. And with that, here's the list of original Guitar Hero winners:

Pantera - "Cowboys From Hell (Live)"
Franz Ferdinand - "Take Me Out"
Queens Of The Stone Age - "No One Knows"
Joan Jett & The Blackhearts - "I Love Rock N' Roll"
Boston - "More Than A Feeling"
White Zombie - "Thunder Kiss '65"
Blue Oyster Cult - "Godzilla"
Helmet - "Unsung (Live)"
Queen - "Killer Queen"
Incubus - "Stellar"
