CNN is reporting that electric guitar pioneer, Les Paul, has died at the age of 94.

Best known for helping create the Gibson Les Paul solid body guitar in 1952, his creation became the "go to" guitar for generations of rockers -- and the shape of that classic is still lives as Guitar Hero III's popular guitar peripheral.
