BIZ: Do you envision GTA IV being a bigger launch for GameStop than Halo 3 was?

JH: That's hard to predict. They are both highly anticipated titles; ultimately, we have to let the players judge.

BIZ: Where does this launch fit into the 2008 calendar year with upcoming games like Gears of War 2 and Gran Turismo 5?

JH: The launch of GTA IV is an important one and sets up a series of exciting releases including Gears of War 2 and Gran Turismo 5, but also Madden 08, NCAA Football 09 and others.

BIZ: What types of pre-order numbers have you seen for GTA IV and how do the PS3 vs Xbox 360 game orders compare?

JH: It is our policy not to comment on pre-order or sales data but I can tell you that it will be one of our top titles.

BIZ: How do you envision this GTA launch compared to previous October releases for the franchise?

JH: We anticipate it being just as successful as previous releases. GTA IV is a big title in a well-known, well-established series that claims a distinct and enthusiastic following.

BIZ: What impact do you see GTA IV having on the sales of PS3 and Xbox 360 hardware at your stores?

JH: It is our policy not to comment on sales figures.

BIZ: How long do you expect the legs of GTA IV to last, given the game is shipping so early in the year - compared to its traditional October release?

JH: We expect it will have durability and will also spark interest in the genre and support sales of earlier titles in the series.

BIZ: How many used copies of GTA IV do you anticipate selling this year?

JH: It is our policy not to release sales data.

BIZ: Do you envision more of these types of big launches timed to other games throughout the year and what are the benefits of these contests/launches?

JH: Yes! We recently kicked-off our promotional offerings with the March launch of the Super Smash Bros. Brawl Tournaments in GameStop stores across the country and have a year-long calendar filled with similar events and promotions designed to bring power to the players.
