A law firm in Miami Florida has confirmed that it will be filing a lawsuit against Take-Two Interactive, publisher of the wildly popular Grand Theft Auto franchise. According to reports the lawsuit filed claims that two young boys were influenced by a Grand Theft Auto game, in which they murdered a man in a similar fashion that would be seen on the game itself.
Specific details were not revealed, however the law firm representing the victim's family are seeking more than $100 million in damages. The law firm has also hinted that they may file a class action suite against Take-Two that could potentially involve hundreds of people.
Attorney Jack Thompson said "We want to tell the video game industry that if they're going to continue to market adult-rated games to children with these horrific consequences, then we're going to take their blood money. In the past few days I have been contacted by dozens of other people, and there may be hundreds more cases. This will send a message that they have to stop this practice or there will be other suits on behalf of other people, killed by these games."
