Racing fans finally get a full 1080p version of the game they really wanted.

Sony Computer Entertainment America's upcoming simulation racing game, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue for PlayStation 3 is now set for an official North America launch date of April 17.
Developed by series creator, Polyphony Digital, the complete game will cost $39.99 at your local retailer or purchased through as a digital download from the PlayStation Store.
"Ten years following the introduction of Gran Turismo on PS one, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue delivers the most realistic and technologically advanced racing experience on any platform," said Jeff Reese, director, software marketing, SCEA. "With 1080p graphics, revolutionary online features like Gran Turismo TV and the new in-cockpit racing view, the world's best-selling racing franchise will once again set the standard for racing games."
The Blu-ray disc version offers an exclusive video with behind-the-scenes footage called "Beyond the Apex." Both versions pack in over 60 religiously detailed vehicles from Ferrari, Audi and Nissan and online multiplayer support for up to 16 racers.
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue also adds DUALSHOCK 3 controller support and is currently rated E for Everyone by the ESRB.
