Flush off of their success co-financing The Dark Knight, Legendary Pictures has signed up to help out New Line by co-financing and co-producing the Gears of War movie, which might even come out next year.

Gears of War Book Trilogy Coming
We can only assume the books describe in great detail the visceral nature of using chainsaw bayonets at close range. The first book, Gears of War: The Battle of Aspho Fields, will release a week before Gears of War 2.

Gears of War Gets Price Drop, New Two-Disc Version Announced
Yep, now Xbox 360 owners can save a whole $20 when they purchase Gears of War starting June 4. There will also be a special two-disc version coming with content for both Gears of War 1 and 2.
