The GameDaily One-Minute Review

Gears of War, the game that rocked the Xbox 360 last year finally makes its way to the PC. It probably won't quite reach the same heights of fame it did on the console, but it still stands as a solid game in its own right. The ported controls initially feel a little clunky, but can be dealt with over time, though the computer-controlled teammates who get in the way and get killed gets very annoying. The precision mouse controls can sometimes make the game feel too easy, until about midway through when the difficulty spontaneously skyrockets. However, with upgraded graphics, exclusive campaign chapters and a handful of new multiplayer features (handled through Games for Windows Live), Gears of War is a very desirable shooter.
