Square Enix has finally brought the original Front Mission to the States via an upgraded port for the DS. Front Mission distinguishes itself from other tactical role-playing games with its mech-based storyline and gameplay. Mech heads will rejoice at the superabundance of tweaking that they can perform on their wanzers (as they are known in the series), providing a number of different combat styles and strategies. The plotline is very dramatic and heady, and gamers can play the story from either side of the two warring factions, doubling the length of the campaign. With a simple multiplayer duel mode thrown in for good measure, there is enough to keep fans of the genre happy, but a few control quirks and a lot of time in the garage could turn off the average player.
