Forza Motorsport 2's advanced physics were designed with car aficionados who will appreciate tires and suspension models reacting to heat and weight transfer. They'll also delight in the unprecedented customization, where they can swap out body kits, design custom logos and tweak the most minute details. For everyone else, however, the game fails to deliver the excitement found in most racing games. Developer Turn 10 focused on making the cars handling as realistic as possible, an admirable effort, but the result makes the game a little boring. Slick damage modeling lets gamers crash Ferraris and Lamborghinis, but that doesn't justify spending $59.99. If anything, Forza 2 excels online, where players put up their rides for auction and lock the designs, letting the world know who designed the car. It's a great game, just not an especially thrilling one.
