Sony's upcoming PlayStation 3 video game, Folklore, doesn't receive as much press as the company's biggest holiday offerings, yet it intrigues us just as much as Ratchet & Clank Future as well as Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. The game, which debuts October 9, seems like the perfect game for the fall, a creepy and dark adventure in which you explore the mysteries of the dead in a fantasy setting.

Folklore lets you play as two unique characters, the spiritual young woman, Ellen and her counterpart Keats, a man that refuses to believe in the paranormal events surrounding him. Together, they explore the town of Doolin, a strange place where the living communicate with the dead. Snooping around and speaking to the townsfolk reveals an exciting secret, that Doolin serves as an access point to different realms. Eager to discover what it all means, both characters pass through and investigate these worlds, encountering well over 100 monsters.

Although a large portion of the story runs between Ellen and Keats adventures, meaning you'll see some of the same cut scenes, each character has his or her own unique story, so it pays to play through the game with both. In addition, you have the option of changing them between chapters.
