Nintendo recently unveiled yet another new Fire Emblem title in Japan, and it appears to largely follow the precedent set by the previous GBA titles. Fire Emblem: The Shining Stones of Good and Evil (loose translation) will be a tale about the good (or holy) stone and the evil (or demon) stone, as the name implies. Beyond that no storyline details are known.
Gameplay appears to remain largely unchanged, with battles still playing out in close-up 2D scenes. Characters' status screen remains unchanged as well. It does appear that an interactive world map has been added, however. Just like every other Fire Emblem title, the character art shows off new characters, who just happen to look incredibly similar to old characters.
Fire Emblem: The Shining Stones of Good and Evil is set for a late 2004 release in Japan. No other details are known at this time, including the possibility of an American release. It's safe to assume the title will see an American release however, thanks to the success of last year's Fire Emblem on the GBA.
