EA Sports Announces Fight Night 2004 (XBOX)

Heavyweight Champion of the World Roy Jones Jr. has reached an agreement with Electronic Arts, the world's leading interactive software company, to be the cover athlete and spokesman for its new boxing game, EA SPORTS Fight Night 2004. Jones' will serve as the game's spokesman, and his image will be featured on packaging and merchandising for the game, which is currently in development for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system and Xbox video game system from Microsoft.

"Being selected as an EA SPORTS cover athlete is one of the greatest honors in sports today, and I'm thrilled to be on the cover of EA SPORTS Fight Night 2004," Jones said.

Built from the ground up to deliver the bone-crushing action of championship boxing, EA SPORTS Fight Night 2004 is an all-new boxing game that features revolutionary new gameplay mechanics and a dramatic new-school attitude to immerse players like never before. Innovative new analog Total Punch Control allows gamers to throw punches, block, bob, and weave with unprecedented fluidity and precision. The game also includes a deep create-a-player option, career mode, and online play for the PlayStation 2 console via EA SPORTS Nation.

One of the most dynamic stars in boxing today with a record of 49-1 with 35 KOs, Roy Jones Jr. is the undisputed Light Heavyweight Champion of the World. He is also a former Olympian and National Golden Gloves winner and has held several Championship titles in his professional career, including the Heavyweight title.

EA SPORTS Fight Night 2004 is slated to ship in Spring 2004.
