The GameDaily One-Minute Review

Sierra delivers more F.E.A.R. for the holidays with F.E.A.R. Files, a standalone expansion that contains the PC games, Extraction Point and the recently released Perseus Mandate. Much like the original F.E.A.R., you explore and redecorate drab looking offices with the blood of test tube super soldiers, getting the jump on your adversaries by slowing down time and then blowing off their limbs. Although the action's decent and the games have a somewhat scary edge (thanks to Alma, a homicidal, ghostly little girl), neither held our interests for very long. Despite a handful of new enemies and weapons, you repeatedly slaughter the same foes, and the 2005 quality visuals can't compete with the 360's recent shooters, namely Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4. Actually, the scariest thing about this bundle is its appalling $49.99 MSRP.
