On Tuesday, June 23, Fallout 3 players will finally get to see something they've never seen in the game (unless they actually found Oasis in the original map) -- vegetation. While the brown, dry and gloomy atmosphere of the Capitol Wasteland has been the canvas presented as a storyboard for the Wanderer, the new Point Lookout takes players to the southern Maryland shore, far from the ruins of the once great capitol city.

Dominated by the waters from Chesapeake Bay and the mouth of the Potomac River (made far more important with the several of the endings of Fallout 3's main quest), trees have leaves and the new enemies, while not quite as hideous as their urban counterparts, are just vicious but with a humorous tone. Here you'll also find boats, piers, a nearly untouched mansion and even a secret military base... as they were unveiled in the Bethesda's latest Designer Diary entry.

The diary entry also talks about the real-life history of the region, battles that have taken place there and the fact that the area is viewed as one of the most haunted places in North America. Will there be ghosts in the new DLC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 players will have to wait to find out on Tuesday.

[Edit: Thanks to uber geek Ian MacFarlane for the edit about Oasis. He's still single ladies. ]
