Start off by purchasing the Marital Home in Oakvale. Now put your best trophies in there and put it up for rent. When you have more money wait until night when the villagers are asleep, bust in the door to their house and kill them. Now the house will be up for sale. Keep doing this until you have all the houses in the village and make sure you rent them all out. This also works with the tavern and other stores. If you need somewhere to sleep, either use the tavern or one of the houses you own.
