The GameDaily One-Minute Review
Nintendo's Excite Truck should appeal to anyone that's rocketed Hot Wheels through plastic loops and zipped them off the kitchen table. All types of destructible vehicles barrel down mountains, fly off hills, and skim along crystal clear water; all the while fire erupts from their tail pipes and the terrain morphs at will. It's a decent racing game made better by the Wii's motion sensitive controller, which must be held horizontally and tilted like a steering wheel in order to guide the vehicles to the finish line. Casual gamers will have a ball with it, though people "in the know" should look elsewhere to get their racing fix. While Excite Truck provides genuine thrills, its lack of modes and most importantly, online play, keeps it from being a must buy, especially since this bare bones package carries an unacceptable $49.99 price tag.
