Splash Damage, the London-based developer behind id Software's Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory and Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars, has announced the hiring of Neil Alphonso. He'll head up the studio's level design team for its next AAA multiplatform title in development.

Alphonso comes to Splash Damage from Guerilla Games where he worked as Lead Level Designer on Sony's Killzone 2 for PS3. He has over seven years of multiplatform development experience across Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. He began his career designing environments for Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, and then served as Level Designer on Duke Nukem Forever at 3DRealms.

"I love Neil's considerable focus on advancing our players' experience, born-out by his refined design talent and stunning accumulation of knowledge while working on games such as Killzone 2 and Splinter Cell," said Paul Wedgwood, Owner of Splash Damage. "He's the perfect man to lead our team of really skilled Level Designers. I can't wait for our fans to see what he and his team are working on."

"The Splash Damage guys know how to build great multiplayer experiences that are a cut above most of what is available today," said Alphonso. "Their refined approach is even more appealing to me as a Lead Level Designer, and provides an excellent base for me to push on into the frontiers of gaming."

Splash Damage has doubled its development team in the past 12 months, which the company said is "a direct result of the immensely successful recruitment drive that followed its announcement of a partnership with Bethesda Softworks." The studio continues to look to fill additional positions in art, design, and programming fields. Interested industry professionals should visit this page for more information.
