Masthead Studios today announced that it has concluded a licensing deal with Interactive Data Visualization. Under terms of the agreement, the independent game developer will have access to SpeedTree. Masthead will use the middleware to proliferate the flora in their post-apocalyptic MMO Earthrise, which is set to release in 2009.
"SpeedTree provides our team with the freedom to create the plants and trees of Earthrise with a very rich library of assets," said Atanas Atanasov, CEO of Masthead Studios. "The combination of frequent updates and a significant collection of included models contribute to rapid integration and overall environment development."
