DJ Hero can tout two more big stars in its lineup -- rappers Jay-Z and Eminem (who recently emerged from a five-year hiatus with a new album) have signed onto Activision's newest 'Hero' project, not only providing a selection of their songs for but also collaborating on a special branded edition of the game. The bundle will include an 'advanced version' of the turntable controller, a DJ stand, and a traveling case along with a CD from each artist featuring their popular songs and new mixes. In addition, DLC of songs from both Jay-Z and Eminem will be released later this year.

DJ Hero, which Activision confirmed earlier this month, is a music-rhythm game in the tradition of Guitar Hero and Rock Band uses a turntable controller instead of guitars/drums. Get the first look at the turntable controller here. The soundtrack will focus on songs from the hip-hop, R&B and electronica genres.

We've yet to get our hands on DJ Hero (or its competitor, Scratch: The Ultimate DJ), but from the screenshots we've seen so far, players will use instrument lanes with scrolling notes to play each song as previous music games have.
