Metro3D sent word today that they have gained the North American publishing rights to Dinosaur Hunting. Developed by Microsoft Game Studios Japan, Dinosaur Hunting is an action-adventure game which takes place in 1910 near the Amazon interior. Amazingly, British Geologist Norton Klast discovers that dinosaurs have managed to survive for thousands of years and are now living on the highlands of Guiana in the Amazon interior. And conveniently enough, a tectonic shift caused the highlands to become enclosed by towering cliffs which cut the dinosaurs off from the rest of the world.
Now these remaining dinosaurs are facing extinction and must be transported to a new location at all costs, and this is where the player comes in. For this mission, Lord Andrew creates an international team of hunters and scientists from England, France, Canada, and the United States. Choosing from four teams, each with unique characters, players explore the Guiana Highlands in order to gather knowledge about the dinosaurs and their environments (including theories about dinosaur history) and ultimately to hunt down and tranquilize the dinosaurs to save the species.
Could Dinosaur Hunting be considered an educational videogame? Look for it exclusively on Xbox on November 7th.
