Digimon World Dusk is one of two new Digimon releases for the Nintendo DS, alongside Digimon World Dawn. Both games work pretty much the same way as last year's Digimon World, with players forming groups of digital creatures to battle against random enemies. This time around, Digimon trainers resolve an issue with a mysterious plague that de-evolves the creatures back to their original egg forms.

It sounds like a progressive storyline, but most of the time, players take part in random battles when they're not accomplishing missions for the home office or meandering about in a cave or dungeon. In terms of presentation, Digimon World Dusk looks pretty close to its anime counterpart. Quirkily designed creatures inhabit the world, with over four hundred to choose from between this game and the accompanying Dawn. Unfortunately, the animation and backgrounds look too simplistic. Typical music and sound effects are strewn throughout the game as well, creating a decent -- if not entirely memorable -- audio experience.
