Capcom today announced results for the company's financial third quarter. Sales for the period rose slightly to ¥51.66 billion ($483 million) with income dropping nearly 20 percent to ¥3.57 billion ($3.33 million). In particular, the company's home gaming business did very well, with sales up nearly a quarter to ¥30.85 billion ($288.4 million) and with income up nearly 40 percent on the previous year to ¥6,039 billion ($56.4 million).

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles on Wii has seen sales of nearly a million units and sold solidly in the West. Monster Hunter Freedom 2 was a hit in Japan, netting sales over 1.5 million. Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure and Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes also saw decent sales success.

For the full year, the company expects a significant operating profit increase to ¥11.5 billion ($107.5 million). The company also expects increased revenue of roughly 10 percent, up to ¥78 billion ($729.3 million), while maintaining income forecasts of six percent to ¥6.2 billion ($57.9 million). Sales of Devil May Cry 4, which are expected to be around two million, are expected to enhance these results.
