Electronic Arts and Def Jam records announced that have begun shipping Def Jam: Fight for New York to retailers nationwide. The title is available for the PS2, Xbox, and GC. Def Jam: Fight for New York is rated "M" for Mature, and will retail for the MSRP of $49.99.
Def Jam: Fight for New York thrusts players into New York amidst a brutal battle for control of the city's hip hop underground. With a cast of more than 40 hip hop artists and celebrities from Def Jam and other prominent music labels in the game, players will come face to face with dozens of rap's biggest names, including Busta Rhymes, Ludacris, Ice T, Lil' Kim, Method Man, Redman and Snoop Dogg.
Def Jam: Fight for New York features five customizable fighting styles, 20 highly-interactive venues, 10 gameplay modes, 70 playable characters and dozens of weapons. The game also features a new create-a-fighter mode allowing gamers to customize their combatant with licensed hip hop gear from 12 authentic brands. Not surprisingly, Def Jam: Fight for New York has a soundtrack with 28 old and new school hits, including tracks from Fat Joe, Ice T, LL Cool J, Method Man, Public Enemy, Redman and more.
