Tecmo announced today that the latest installment of the Dead or Alive series has shipped to retailers nationwide. The game, which has suffered from numerous delays over its long development cycle, will finally deliver the intense online fighting experience fans of the Dead or Alive series have longed for. Developed by the renowned Team Ninja, Dead or Alive Ultimate is a two disc package that contains a complete remake of Dead or Alive 2 (originally on the PlayStation 2 and Sega DreamCast) as well as a port of the original Dead or Alive from the Sega Saturn. Both games contain full online functionality via Xbox Live.

Dead or Alive Ultimate will be available at retailers across North America as early as tomorrow. The game is rated "M" for Mature and carries an MSRP of $49.99.
