While some gamers play just for the fun of getting away from the reality of life, others kick things up a notch by challenging themselves to become the best of the best. Tekken, Virtua Fighter, and Street Fighter all have a dedicated, hardcore following with multiple, national level tournaments taking place each year.
After many years of sitting in the hands of casual games, the hardcore Dead or Alive community is finally starting to come alive (no pun intended). On June 12, players from across the country will converge on Dallas, Texas to test their Dead or Alive 3 skills at the sixth annual Tekken in Texas (TIT6) tournament.
While Tekken 4, Tekken Tag Tournament and several other games will be on hand, this is the first time a Dead or Alive title will be featured at the event. With Dead or Alive Ultimate, the first online 3D fighting game, hitting stores in September, this could easily be just the tip of the iceberg for fans of the series.
Details about the upcoming tournament can be found at Dead or Alive Central. We'll have more on the event as it draws closer.
