IGN is reporting that NPD sales of de Blob have totaled 230,000 copies through December 2008. These results are positive for a new IP and better than another Wii title, Wario Land: Shake It!, that launched on the same day and sold 150,000 copies over the same period. Given these results, it seems that THQ is open to de Blob sequels down the road.

"We're pleased with de Blob's performance worldwide," said a THQ rep to IGN. "It's a great intellectual property and you can tell your readers to expect to see more of de Blob in the future."
