The first half of the game involves fighting North Koreans, and things don't pick up until the aliens invade. There are some major inconsistencies behind some of the enemy artificial intelligence. Most times, the enemy makes tactical retreats, regrouping and constantly trying to outflank the player. Then they seem to give up on being smart and shoot endlessly at walls. Other AI issues include attack choppers with psychic powers, since they always know our positions, even as we lay on our stomachs in grass among tall trees. Going into stealth mode helps, but the chopper was able to predict our movements, no matter how random we tried to make them. There's also no silent way to take out soldiers. Grabbing them by the throat and super-punching still produces enough sound to put nearby guards on alert.

While the player's nanosuit is impressive, some of the Korean soldiers take body armor to a new extreme. Sometimes, it seems like anything less than a sniper shot to the face is a waste of bullets; we unloaded half a magazine from our assault rifle into a soldier's back and it still managed to keep running. Things get even crazier once Korean soldiers wearing knock-off versions of the nanosuit start showing up using the same powers as the player. It takes forever to kill them unless there's a fully loaded minigun on-hand, especially since they can turn invisible. Luckily, thanks to a graphics oversight, their shadows still appear on the ground, so players can pick them off from afar.
