Germany already has a fairly strict policy on regulating the sales of games with some violent content. However there has been increasing pressure from the government in that country to ban all games with violent content. While there a grass roots effort by gamers in that country to make the government reconsider, the threat is enough that one major German-based developer is saying they may pull stakes and move out.According to a statement at German-based web site PCGames.de, Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli (and yes that's him above this post making like a Law and Order: SVU suspect) states, "If the German creative community can't effectively participate in one of the most important cultural mediums of our future, we will be forced to relocate to other countries." Crytek is of course the creator of the original Far Cry and Crysis first person shooter titles (with Crysis 2 already announced) as well as the CryEngine game development software that's used by third party developers. Crytek already has several studios outside of their home of Germany so moving their headquarters to another location is not as big of a deal as it might be normally.
