The GameDaily One-Minute Review

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII is a cinematic masterpiece, an orgy of exquisite full motion video sequences, beautiful music and quality vocal performances. As such, it's not a movie. It's a video game, and as a game, Crisis Core is good, not great. The one button gameplay grows monotonous quickly, and having to use the L and R triggers to "slide" over to one's spells and items leaves you open to attack. Combine that with the annoying "Combat Resolved" narrator, and the result is is a game that appeals to Final Fantasy VII supporters itching to uncover new info about their favorite game. If that's you, then indulge your fantasies. Otherwise, this is a decent hack-and-slash game encased within a glossy exterior.
